# Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Syzygy ("Syzygy", "we", "us", and "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal data when you use the Syzygy applications, account services, websites, support channels, and trusted device sync features.

## Scope

This policy applies to the desktop and mobile applications, account and entitlement services, trusted-device sync features, support and deletion workflows, and related web pages linked from the product.

## Categories of data we process

- Account and identity data, such as email address, phone number, account identifier, authentication state, and profile preferences.
- Subscription, entitlement, activation, and transaction metadata needed to manage plans, eligibility, anti-abuse controls, and device limits.
- Device, app, and network data used for pairing, trusted sync, diagnostics, performance monitoring, fraud prevention, and security review.
- Clipboard content, file previews, and related metadata only when capture, preview, sync, or export features are enabled on your device or when you intentionally submit content through the product.
- Support and communications data, including feedback, deletion requests, support tickets, and diagnostic artifacts you choose to send us.

## How data is collected

We process data from the following sources:

- data you provide directly, such as account details, support messages, deletion requests, and checkout information submitted through an authorized payment provider;
- data generated by the app and service when you use product features, such as device pairing state, entitlement checks, diagnostic logs, sync delivery state, and security events;
- content you choose to capture, preview, sync, export, or submit through Syzygy;
- data received from authorized service providers, such as payment confirmation, refund, chargeback, fraud-review, tax, or subscription status events; and
- platform or store metadata where required to distribute, support, or secure a platform-specific build.

## Clipboard content and sensitive data

Syzygy is designed around local-first clipboard workflows. Clipboard history, previews, and files are generally stored on your own devices unless you enable a feature that intentionally transfers, syncs, submits, or processes that content.

Because clipboard content may contain sensitive information, you are responsible for deciding what to capture, mask, pin, sync, export, or delete. The app provides controls for capture, masking, retention, trusted-device relationships, and sync scope. If a feature requires a separate permission, runtime prompt, or prominent disclosure on a platform, that disclosure is part of this policy.

## Why we process data

- To provide clipboard capture, history, preview, trusted pairing, sync, entitlement, and account functionality.
- To authenticate users, enforce plan limits, maintain device trust, resume transfers, and protect the integrity of the service.
- To investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, product defects, and operational failures.
- To respond to support requests, process deletion requests, and communicate service, security, or policy updates.
- To comply with applicable law, accounting obligations, dispute handling, and lawful requests from public authorities.

## Payment and entitlement processing

When you purchase, activate, renew, cancel, refund, or dispute a paid entitlement, payment data may be processed by Paddle, an app store, or another authorized payment provider. We do not need to receive full card numbers or bank credentials from those providers. We may receive order identifiers, product identifiers, price, currency, tax, status, invoice, refund, chargeback, fraud-review, and entitlement-related metadata needed to provision, support, reconcile, or revoke access.

## Legal bases

Depending on your location and how you use the service, we process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests in security and service integrity, or based on your consent for optional processing.

## Sharing and transfers

- Most clipboard history and previews are stored locally on your devices.
- When trusted sync is enabled, content may move directly between paired devices or through relay and service infrastructure when needed to complete delivery, resume transfers, or keep state consistent.
- We use service providers for hosting, delivery, account, analytics, diagnostics, and support operations. They receive only the data needed to perform those services for us.
- We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or similar corporate transaction.
- We do not sell personal data or share clipboard content for unrelated advertising purposes.
- This platform may be distributed directly while using the same shared account, entitlement, and trust infrastructure as other Syzygy apps.

## International transfers

We may process information in the regions where we or our service providers operate. Where applicable law requires additional safeguards for cross-border transfers, we use contractual, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect the transferred data.

## Retention

- Local clipboard history remains on the device until you delete it, reset the app, or your retention settings remove it.
- Account, entitlement, activation, and trust records are retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards for security, fraud prevention, billing support, and legal compliance.
- Support, deletion, and security records may be retained for a limited period where needed to investigate incidents, confirm requests, or meet legal obligations.
- Backup copies may persist until the relevant rotation cycle completes, after which they are deleted or overwritten.

## Public disclosures and permissions

Store listings, app permission dialogs, checkout pages, and in-app disclosures may provide additional product-specific information about data access, collection, sharing, security practices, and deletion request methods. Where those disclosures are required, they should be read together with this policy. If there is a conflict between a platform disclosure and this policy, contact us so we can correct the inconsistency.

## Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.

You can also:

- manage capture, sync, masking, retention, trust, and account settings inside the app;
- revoke optional permissions through the operating system or app settings where supported;
- opt out of non-essential communications using the unsubscribe or preference controls provided in the message;
- request account deletion inside the app and through the web deletion flow described in the Data Retention & Deletion notice; and
- contact us if you want to exercise privacy rights or raise a complaint.

## Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of account and service data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so you should also protect your devices, credentials, and trusted-device relationships.

## Children

Syzygy is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law to use the service independently. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can review the request.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish the revised version, update the "Last updated" date, and, where required, provide additional notice inside the product or through your account contact channel.
